C’è un’Italia che non conosce crisi o battute d’arresto ed è quella che pedala in sella alla bicicletta sulle “strade bianche” della Provincia di Siena. E’ in particolare l’Italia dell’Eroica, la cicloturistica d’epoca che ogni anno a Gaiole in Chianti offre l’opportunità a migliaia di appassionati da tutto il mondo per vivere l’atmosfera e la magia del Chianti con i suoi magnifici Castelli, gli aspetti più naturali, i sapori migliori, i ritmi lenti ed unici al mondo; per collezionisti di belle emozioni.

L’Eroica 2013 si svolgerà domenica 6 ottobre, sui conosciutissimi 4 diversi percorsi di 38, 75, 135 e 205 chilometri con partenza libera dalle ore 5.00 alle ore 7.00 per i due percorsi più lunghi e dalle ore 8,30 alle ore 10.00 per i due percorsi più corti.

Visto l’enorme successo che l’evento registra sempre più con l’arrivo di parecchie migliaia di richieste, impossibili da accogliere viste le caratteristiche del territorio, quest’anno gli organizzatori hanno deciso di adottare il criterio che più si adatta a questo tipo di eventi; l’iscrizione a sorteggio.

Potranno partecipare all’Eroica circa 5000 ciclisti così suddivisi; 2500 mediante sorteggio, tutti under 60, e 2500 tra over 60 e donne, iscritti a prezzo maggiorato per il sostegno ai progetti di beneficenza, Tour Operators ufficiali dell’Eroica e invitati dall’Organizzazione. Dei 2500 under 60 estratti a sorte, 1500 saranno gli italiani e 1000 gli stranieri. Non c’è limite al numero di partecipanti over 60, sia italiani che stranieri, così come per le donne. Over 60 e donne potranno iscriversi dal 1 febbraio al 30 giugno tramite il sito internet oppure con il modulo scaricabile dal sito da inviare a mezzo fax.

Le preiscrizioni si potranno formalizzare dal 21 gennaio al 3 marzo esclusivamente attraverso il sito www.eroica.it con indirizzo mail valido visto che costituirà l’unico mezzo di comunicazione istituzionale con l’organizzazione. Dopo il 3 marzo il sorteggio sarà effettuato e certificato da un notaio.

La quota di iscrizione è di 35 euro ma dal 15 maggio saranno disponibili 100 iscrizioni al prezzo di 100 euro. Un’ultima possibilità è prevista il 15 giugno quando saranno disponibili altre 100 iscrizioni al prezzo di 130 euro. Tutte le maggiorazioni di costo rispetto alla quota base saranno destinate ai progetti di solidarietà promossi dall’Eroica.

All’Eroica si partecipa esclusivamente con bici d’epoca, cioè con biciclette con cambio sul tubo obliquo, fili dei freni esterni al manubrio e pedali con fermapiedi e cinghietti.

A tutti i partecipanti all’Eroica che porteranno a termine il percorso di km 205 sarà riservato uno sconto di 10 euro sul costo d’iscrizione dell’Eroica Running, in programma a Gaiole in Chianti domenica 3 novembre.

L'Eroica: an international success story

From 2013, participation of under 60's, both Italian and non, will be by a draw

There is an Italy that knows no crisis or setbacks and it is pedaling on the white gravel roads of the Province of Siena. The Italy of L'Eroica, the tourist cycling event which, each year in Gaiole in Chianti, gives thousands of enthusiasts from all over the world the chance to experience the atmosphere and the magic of the Chianti region with its magnificent castles, natural landscapes, wonderful flavours, slow rhythms; an unique experience, for 'collectors' of amazing experiences.
L'Eroica 2013 will take place on Sunday, 6 October, along the four different, well-known routes of 38, 75, 135 and 205 km, with the two longer routes setting off between 5.00 and 7.00am and the shorter routes from 8.30 to 10.00am.

Given the increasingly huge success enjoyed by the event, with several thousand requests coming in, it is impossible to accommodate all those wishing to participate, given the characteristics of the area. This year, therefore, the organizers have decided to adopt the policy that is best suited to this type of event, registration by a draw.
Approximately 5,000 cyclists will participate in l'Eroica, as follows; 2,500 under 60s will be drawn randomly, an additional 2,500 will be divided between over 60s, women, participants who pay the higher registration fee destined to support our charities, tour operators and other guests of the organizers. Of the 2,500 under 60s who are randomly selected, 1,500 will be Italian and 1,000 from abroad. There is no limit to the number of female participants or to the over 60s, both Italian and non. Over 60s and women can register from 1 February to 30 June via the website or by fax using the form downloaded from the website.

Pre-registration is possible from 21 January to 3 March exclusively through the website www.eroica.it, giving a valid email address as that willEroica is involved exclusively with be the only means of communication with the organization. After 3 March the draw will be held and certified by a notary.
The registration fee is 35 Euro but from 15 May, 100 places will be available at a cost of 100 Euro each. A final possibility is scheduled on June 15 when a further 100 places will be available at a cost of 130 Euro. All monies above the basic fee received will be allocated to charitable projects promoted by the L'Eroica.
Only vintage bikes may participate in l'Eroica, that is bikes with gears on the oblique tube, brake wires outside the handlebars and pedals with toe clips and straps.
All those who complete the 205 km route of l'Eroica can avail of a 10 Euro discount on the registration fee for L'Eroica Running which will take place in Gaiole in Chianti on Sunday, 3 November.
