E' la settimana più importante dell'anno per Gerhard Kerschbaumer e compagni, che da mercoledì 31 agosto a sabato 3 settembre saranno impegnati a Champéry, in Svizzera, nei Mondiali MTB inaugurati lunedì 29 agosto. Dopo i successi ottenuti fra campionati italiani, Europei e Coppa del Mondo, l'altoatesino della TX Active-Bianchi si presenta allo start iridato come uno dei favoriti della categoria U23. Con lui, ma con la maglia portoghese, in gara anche Ricardo Marinheiro. Gli élite Stephane Tempier e Tony Longo cercheranno nel week-end di migliorare i buoni piazzamenti già centrati in Coppa del Mondo. Il primo atleta della TX Active-Bianchi a salire in sella, mercoledì 31 (ore 17), sarà Kerschbaumer in gara con la staffetta azzurra, già terza ai campionati europei di Dohnany, in Slovacchia. Con lui, come in quella occasione, saranno in gara lo junior Lorenzo Samparisi, l'élite Marco Aurelio Fontana ed Eva Lechner. Venerdì 2 settembre, alle 17, si disputa la gara individuale degli U23. Fra i nomi più quotati, ovviamente, c'è quello di Kerschbaumer, forte dell'escalation di successi ottenuti nel 2011 con la sua Methanol SL2 in ogni parte del mondo. Al via ci sarà anche il portoghese Ricardo Marinheiro. Sabato 3 settembre, alle 16.30, sarà la volta degli élite Stephane Tempier e Tony Longo. Il francese punta a confermare quanto di buono fatto vedere in Val di Sole, due settimane fa, quando è giunto sesto nell'ultima prova di Coppa del Mondo. L'azzurro Longo vuole a sua volta regalare al team un bel risultato in questa parte conclusiva della stagione. ENGLISH VERSION Four TX Active-Bianchi’s riders in the action at World Champs in Champéry It’s the most important week of the year for Gerhard Kerschbaumer and his TX Active-Bianchi team-mates at MTB World Championships in Champéry (Switzerland), from August 31st to September 3rd. After the outstanding victories achieved at Italian Championships, European Championships and Word Cup XCO, the Italian rider is among the main favourites on the U23’s “rainbow” race starting-line. In the same series, Portuguese Ricardo Marinheiro will be in the action as well, while Stephane Tempier and Tony Longo will take part in the Elite race, in the week-end. The first TX Active-Bianchi’s rider in action will be U23 Kerschbaumer on Wednesday August 31st, at 5 p.m., in the Team Relay competition, alongside Italian team-mates Lorenzo Samparisi (junior), Marco Aurelio Fontana (elite) and Eva Lechner (women elite). On Friday, September 2nd (at 5 p.m.) the European champion will contest the U23 individual race. Kerschbaumer is one of the most expected favourites because of recent winning strike all over the world with his Bianchi Methanol SL2. Stephane Tempier and Tony Longo will run on Saturday, September 3rd (at 4.30 p.m.) in the Elite race. French athlete aims to confirm the good performance of World Cup’s final round in Val di Sole, where he was 6th, while Tony Longo wishes to give to the team and to treat himself to any further satisfactions in this last part of the MTB season.
