Nuovo risultato di prestigio per il TX Active-Bianchi nella Coppa del Mondo Mtb. Dopo il successo fra gli U23 nella gara inaugurale di Pietermaritzburg, Gerhard Kerschbaumer si è piazzato secondo nella prova di Dalby Forest, in Gran Bretagna, sabato 21 maggio. A vincere è stato l'austriaco Alexander Gehbauer, che ha preceduto di 5" Kerschaumer, appaiandolo in vetta alla classifica del challenge UCI a 160 punti. Alle loro spalle due tedeschi, Schulte-Luenzum e Bauer.

Sul percorso molto tecnico dello Yorkshire, il talento della squadra di Felice Gimondi è stato sempre nel gruppo dei migliori, poi è arrivato a giocarsi la vittoria finale con l'austriaco che però ha trovato nel finale uno spunto migliore. Kerschbaumer, però, non drammatizza, cogliendo giustamente tutti gli aspetti positivi del bel risultato: “Mi sentivo molto bene, sono riuscito a restare avanti per tutta la gara e, alla fine, la differenza odierna fra me e Gehbaumer è riassunta dallo sprint finale che gli ha permesso di battermi. Restiamo assieme in vetta alla classifica generale e già nel prossimo week-end, a Offenburg, farò di tutto per batterlo di nuovo”, le parole dell'atleta italiano.

Domenica 22 maggio il TX Active-Bianchi sarà in gara nella categoria Elite con Stephane Tempier, Tony Longo e Cristian Cominelli.

World Cup XCO, Kerschbaumer close to success in Dalby Forest

TX-Active - Bianchi achieved a new prestigious result in World Cup XCO, on Saturday, May 21st. After the striking victory in U23 series at Pietermaritzburg’s debut race, Italian Gerhard Kerschbaumer was been runner-up in the Dalby Forest (UK) stage, won by Alexander Gehbauer. Austrian rider outdistanced Kerschbaumer with 5 seconds and caught up with him on the UCI challenge’s top, 160 points both. Behind of Kerschbaumer, two German riders, Schulte-Luenzum and Bauer.

On the technical Yorkshire’s course, Felice Gimondi team’s talented rider was in the leading group right from the start, until he sprinted for success with Gehbauer, who found in last metres a better rush. Kerschaumer wanted to get the best features of the good result though: “I felt really fine, I’ve been for all the time in the front of the race and the difference between me and Gehbauer, today, was summed up in the final meters. We are both overall leader now but I’ll try to beat him again next week-end, in Offenburg, at World Cup XCO stage3”, Italian rider noticed after the race.

On Sunday, May 22nd, TX Active-Bianchi will look for further good results in Elite series with Stephane Tempier, Tony Longo and Cristian Cominelli.
